How to introduce yourself with an elevator pitch

Introducing yourself in a professional setting is very different than simply listing your name and your pets. It is known as an elevator pitch, and is important for creating a great professional first impression.

Usually, the first question a job interviewer will ask is ‘tell me about yourself.’ Rather than simply listing your positive traits, try to tell a story in your answer. Talk about where you previously worked, and a time when your potential was recognised in this environment. Also be sure to relate what you are saying to the company you are interviewing for, closing your pitch with the reason you want to work there.
